Every time you feel that tenseness in your chest.
Every time you feel that sudden dizziness.
Every time you pass a semi.
Every time you cross a bridge.
Every time you take the stairs.
Every time you take the elevator.
Every time you look out the fifth floor window.
It could break. It could snap. It could be cancer. It could be a stroke. It could be a heart attack. It could hit you. It could drop you.
We are balanced on the tiniest head of a needle on a floating orb next to a giant fire star.
The End.
Looking forward to the journey. Too much else to worry about. But nicely said.

Ah. One never knows when. But that’s one reason for the fear, I guess.

I feel really good after reading this. Back to bed for me, covers over the head.

WOW – I’m not going to look out of a fifth floor window again. This was a dark and scary piece …invoking the same feeling of the tunnel in the picture. Nicely done.

Thank you. I went to a funeral a couple days ago, so death has been on my mind.

A very evocative piece here. Existentialism also came to mind when I read this (which is a fascinating topic).

To recognize mortality is not necessarily to live negatively. Seeing life’s fragility can cause you to seek more from the moments you have.

Absolutely. Sometimes it’s amazing that we all are still alive. And then: life can be incredibly tough, and last and last. Or be over in a second. Great, thought-provoking take on the prompt.
